Cultural Envoys were in Turkey

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü organised a colourful “Turkish Summer School” program this year. 540 students from 46 countries got the opportunity to learn Turkish on site in Turkish Summer School program.

Organised for the seventh time this year by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, “Turkish Summer School” program was held with participation of 540 foreign students from 46 countries. Held between July 15th and August 27th program was carried out concurrently in 20 universities in 16 different cities in Turkey. Students both learned Turkish on site and got the chance to get closely acquainted with Turkish culture in the program. Yunus Emre Enstitüsü that continues to realise projects with added value with the aim of promoting Turkish language, history and art, completed “Turkish Summer School” program with success. Yunus Emre Institutes, undertaken Turkey’s cultural diplomacy mission with 45 centres in 37 countries on 4 continents, hosted students that are cultural envoys for a month in Turkey.

Turkish Summer School is participated by guests from various countries who study in Yunus Emre Centres or in Turcology departments abroad. Guests both get the opportunity to learn Turkish in the organisation where Turkish is the language of communication, and by visiting the prominent historical and touristic sites in the cities they travel to, they learn about the local culture.

Sound of 1000 Years Turkish Festival

Visiting students in groups joined training programs in 20 universities where Turkish Summer School program is applied. Our cultural envoys visited the centres and historical and touristic sites in the vicinity of the city and get the chance to both learn Turkish on site and experience Turkish culture. Students gathered in Istanbul at the end of the program, returned to their respective countries after “Sound of 1000 Years Turkish Festival” event. Turkish Summer School program held in 20 universities in 16 cities in Turkey ended on August 27th.
