Turkish Woman Invented Wearable Pacemaker

In the competition organized by the International Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Association, Dr. Canan Dağdeviren ranked first in the world in the field of medical innovation with “the wearable pacemaker”.

The International Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Association (JCI), supported by the United Nations and the third largest non-governmental organization in the world, has organized the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World” competition since 1981, and scientist Dr. Canan Dağdeviren won the grand prize in the field of medical innovation with her invention “wearable pacemaker”.

Dağdeviren, affected by the passing of her grandfather who died at the age of 28 due to heart failure, invented the wearable pacemaker at the age of 28 and made it to the history. At the same time, Dr. Dağdeviren is the first Turkish scientist accepted as a member to Harvard University Young Academy.
